I recently returned from an exhilarating and highly inspiring weekend in sunny Miami, where I attended the BlogHer Food conference alongside my wonderful friend, Jess from Stuck On Sweet. As our inaugural food blogging conference, the experience was truly unforgettable. We immersed ourselves in a vibrant community, forging connections with countless talented individuals and absorbing a wealth of invaluable knowledge. From engaging sessions on food photography and recipe development to discussions on leveraging social media and building a strong online presence, every moment was packed with learning and discovery. It was an incredible opportunity to meet the faces behind the blogs we admire and to share our own passions for food and creation.

The journey itself set a beautiful tone for the weekend, beginning with a serene flight into Miami. I was treated to this breathtaking view of the sunset, painting the sky with hues of orange and purple as we descended. It was a peaceful moment, a calm before the storm of excitement and networking that awaited us.

There’s something incredibly special about sharing experiences, challenges, and successes face-to-face with people who understand your unique niche. These interactions weren’t just professional; they were deeply personal, fostering friendships and a sense of camaraderie that only strengthened our blogging journey. We exchanged ideas, shared tips, and even collaborated on future projects, fueled by the collective energy of so many passionate creators. The tropical backdrop of Miami, with its swaying palm trees and refreshing breezes, made every conversation feel even more relaxed and enjoyable.

Now, let’s shift our focus to today’s star: a truly delightful and healthy Cucumber Tomato Salad with Dill Yogurt Dressing. I am absolutely thrilled to share this recipe with you, especially as I’m partnering with Stonyfield Organic. I was incredibly fortunate to recently become a Clean Plate Club Member with Stonyfield and had the pleasure of meeting their wonderful team at BlogHer. For those who know me well, my deep affection for yogurt is no secret – I’m a self-proclaimed yogurt fanatic! This partnership with Stonyfield Organic feels like a perfect, natural alignment, marrying my love for wholesome ingredients with a brand I genuinely trust and admire.

If you’re as passionate about yogurt as I am, you’ll know just how incredibly versatile it can be. My fridge is never without a steady supply of plain, Greek, and various flavored yogurts, each serving its unique purpose in my culinary adventures. In Lebanese culture, and certainly within my family, plain yogurt holds a place of honor. We use it in countless ways – as a creamy topping for hot dishes, a refreshing dip for crunchy pita bread, or an essential accompaniment to savory kibbeh and delicate grape leaves. It’s truly a staple, a go-to ingredient that enhances almost anything you can imagine. Its cooling properties and tangy flavor profile make it a perfect counterpoint to rich or spicy foods, and its nutritional benefits are simply an added bonus.

A beautiful display of fresh ingredients in this simple yet elegant salad.

Salads have long been one of my favorite canvases for incorporating yogurt, especially in dressings. Opting for a yogurt-based dressing not only imbues your salad with a wonderfully creamy texture and a subtle tang but also comes with the added benefits of extra calcium and often a healthier fat profile compared to traditional oil-heavy dressings. It’s a simple swap that can significantly boost the nutritional value of your meal without sacrificing flavor. This particular Cucumber Tomato Salad with Dill Yogurt Dressing is truly a champion of convenience and taste. Its robust nature means it travels exceptionally well, making it the perfect candidate for your next picnic, potluck, or BBQ. Plus, it’s designed to generously feed a group, ensuring everyone gets to enjoy a taste of summer freshness. The crispness of the vegetables stands up beautifully to the creamy dressing, and the flavors only meld and deepen over a short period, making it an excellent make-ahead option.

Choosing the right ingredients is key to the success of this salad. For the cucumbers, I recommend English or Persian varieties as they tend to have fewer seeds and thinner skins, eliminating the need for extensive peeling. When it comes to tomatoes, any ripe, juicy variety will work, but cherry or grape tomatoes offer a delightful pop of sweetness and vibrant color. The red onion adds a welcome sharpness and a beautiful purple hue, while crumbled feta cheese introduces a salty, briny depth that ties all the flavors together. And of course, fresh dill is non-negotiable for that signature aromatic freshness that defines this dressing. Stonyfield Organic plain low-fat yogurt provides the perfect creamy base, delivering that characteristic tanginess while keeping the dressing light and wholesome.
